Superbenches; Urban Experiment
The Kalejdohill Project, located in Järfälla Stockholm, is a creative partnership holding a series of international competitions and local interventions in and around Kvarnbacken Park. It is a pre-housing project which aims to develop the area before the proposed new houses (between 600-800) have been built.
Over a period of two years, The Kalejdohill Project will aim to create urban interventions that will turn Järfälla in to "A locality that many people would like to visit, invest in, take an active part in and make their home"

The Kalejdohill Project has already seen a few competitions, the 'Superbench' project opening was on Monday 1st May. This project was for international designers to produce ten different park benches that challenge the traditional bark bench. There are some great designs and this simple idea for activating a space is wonderful. We particularly like the Cushy bench by Hägglund & Gripner which imagines the park as a homely lounge room.
